Great advice from Ghandi.
A couple thousand years earlier, guided by the Spirit of Christ, the Apostle Paul put it this way, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3. Context is found in Phillipians 2:1-11.
And in Galatians 5:13, he said … “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
Love reading your blog quotes and other musings . Very encouraging and uplifting. looking forward to the finishing of your book.
Jim! I enjoy how you take what I’ve written and can reference passages in the bible that reinforce the message. Thank you for doing that!! It’s a wonderful reminder that there are many, many paths to the truth as truth is True and we recognize it when we are open to it. I appreciate your encouragement and support of my blogs and quotes – I enjoy posting them – keeps me on my toes! As for my book…I’m looking forward to finishing it at some point too. It’s progressing although a bit slower than I had imagined. But then again there’s another lesson :-)) Love to you xoxo
Hi Marguerite, Thank you for this beautiful , meaningful and timely posting….# no accidents in life. As an RN of 43 years / honor, blessing, privilege: this inspirational quote by Ghandi #/be the change you wish to see……resonates so very deeply with me. In my experience walking the earth school for 63 years, it is when I am in service to others is when my blessings pour forth. This vocation/ career, calling has saved my life……. oh yes…..How very fortunate , grateful and humbled I continue to be witnessing the raw , stripped down full spectrum of life when I am with my patients. This post reminded me that I have truly received in these 43 years, far more than I have given. Accordingly, I must hank you once again for being so very much more than a “tiny lantern of light” in the universe my dear friend. OX Much love, Jeanne
Jeanne thank you for your very heartfelt message! And for sharing so candidly what your vocation has meant and brought to you. I am so grateful that you were blessed with this quote and can witness to its truth. It’s interesting I never know what will reach someone at just the right moment I simply follow my own inner guidance. No accidents or mistakes :-)) I hope all is well with you my dear friend. I’m certain you are shining your bright light wherever you are and blessing so many with your grace. Thank you for reaching out. Much love to you. xoxoxoxo
